Our Consultancy Services for Studying in Italy

Last reviewed

We help students from Any Country understand and prepare for the official Italian admission and student-visa process. We explain what the rules say, help you organise your application, and check your work before you submit it. We do not decide anything: the university decides admission, the Italian consulate decides the visa, and we never submit a visa application on your behalf.

What we do, and what we do not do

Studying in Italy as a non-EU student involves three separate decisions made by three separate bodies. The university evaluates your qualifications and validates your pre-enrolment on Universitaly, the free official portal where every pre-enrolment is submitted. The Italian consulate competent for your country of residence examines your type D study visa application and makes the final decision. After arrival, the Questura (the provincial police headquarters) issues your residence permit. Under Italian rules, pre-acceptance by a university gives no right to a visa, a visa gives no right to complete enrolment, and pre-acceptance gives no right to enrolment. Our role sits around those decisions, not inside them.

What we do

  • Explain the official process in plain language, step by step, for your degree level and your consulate.
  • Help you understand which requirements apply to your qualification, degree level and country of residence.
  • Help you plan the order and timing of each step, from pre-enrolment to the residence permit.
  • Review your prepared application and documents for gaps, inconsistencies and common mistakes before you submit.
  • Tell you plainly when something looks weak, and what to do about it.

What we do not do

  • We do not guarantee admission, a visa, a scholarship or a residence permit. Nobody outside the university or the consulate can.
  • We do not submit visa applications on your behalf, attend your appointment, or communicate with the consulate for you.
  • We do not have any official affiliation with Universitaly, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, CIMEA, any consulate or any university, unless we state so explicitly.
  • We do not prepare, alter or “improve” financial or academic documents. If a document is not genuine, no service can make it acceptable.
  • We do not quote visa fees, processing times or appointment waits. The consulate and its service providers set them and change them without notice, so confirm them on the consulate’s website.

Which service fits which stage?

Most students use one or two services, not all five. The table shows where each one sits in the journey. If you are unsure, start a WhatsApp conversation and we will tell you which service, if any, is relevant to your situation.

The five services in detail

University admission guidance

Italy’s pre-enrolment (preiscrizione) is done exclusively through Universitaly, and you may choose only one course in the application. Choosing well matters because the consulate also considers whether your chosen study path is coherent with your previous studies. This service helps you check your eligibility, understand the institution’s own deadlines (which may be earlier than the national visa deadline) and complete the pre-enrolment without avoidable errors. Read more on the university admission guidance page, or start with our admission process guide.

Student visa consultation

The type D study visa requires proof of financial means (for the 2026/27 intake the reference amount is €10,179.85 a year, from lawful, traceable sources), suitable accommodation in Italy, and health insurance, together with a validated pre-enrolment and the academic documents on the consulate’s list. The consulate also assesses migratory risk. This service explains what each requirement means for your specific case and how to prepare for the appointment. See student visa consultation and the visa requirements guide.

Document preparation guidance

Many refusals and delays come from documents rather than eligibility. CIMEA Statements of Comparability and Verification, the Dichiarazione di Valore from the consulate, sworn translations and legalisation all follow different routes and timelines. This service tells you which route applies to your qualification and builds a checklist in the right order. See document preparation guidance and the documents checklist.

Application review

A structured review of a file you have already prepared. We check it against your consulate’s list, the national requirements and the most common mistakes, and give you a written list of corrections. You then make the changes and submit yourself. See application review.

Pre-departure guidance

Once the visa is in your passport, the clock starts again: the residence permit application must be lodged within 8 working days of arrival, and enrolment must be completed on time or the visa can be revoked. This service prepares you for the first weeks in Italy. See pre-departure guidance and our free pre-departure guide.

How an enquiry works

  1. Send a short WhatsApp message. Tell us your highest qualification, your country of residence, the degree level and intake you are aiming for, and where you are in the process. Do not send passport scans or bank statements at this stage.
  2. We reply with an honest first assessment. We tell you which service is relevant, whether there is an obvious problem (for example a deadline that has already passed), and what we would need from you. If we cannot help, we tell you straight away.
  3. We agree the scope and start. You receive a clear description of what is included, what is not, and how to share documents securely once the service is confirmed. Official fees (consulate, CIMEA, translators, insurance) are always paid by you directly to the body concerned.

Pricing

Fees are quoted after an initial WhatsApp conversation, once we know which service you need and how much work is involved.

Our fees never include official costs. Visa application fees, service-centre charges, CIMEA fees, translation and legalisation costs, insurance premiums and university tuition are set by those bodies and paid to them directly. We do not collect or forward money for any official body.

Frequently asked questions

Can you guarantee my visa will be approved?

No, and you should be cautious of anyone who says they can. The final decision belongs exclusively to the Italian consulate, which also assesses migratory risk case by case. What we can do is make sure you understand the requirements, prepare a complete and consistent file, and avoid the mistakes that most often lead to refusals.

Do I need a consultant at all?

Not necessarily. The pre-enrolment portal is free, the rules are public, and many students complete the process on their own using guides like the ones on this site. A consultant is useful when you want someone to check your understanding, your timing and your documents before you commit to an appointment, especially if your qualification or funding situation is unusual.

Will you submit the application for me?

No. The pre-enrolment is submitted in your own Universitaly account and the visa application is lodged by you at the consulate or its appointed service centre, with fingerprints collected in person. We prepare you to do both correctly; we do not do them in your name.

How current is your information?

We review every guide on this site each year, as soon as the rules for the new intake are published, and again whenever a consulate changes its document list. Our guides currently reflect the rules for the 2026/27 and 2027/28 academic years. Consulate-specific lists, fees and appointment systems change without notice, so confirm those on the consulate’s own website before you book.
