Italy Study Journey is an independent study-abroad consultancy based in Any Country that helps students understand and prepare for admission to Italian higher education and the Italian student visa. We explain the official process accurately, help you prepare, and tell you the truth about your situation. We are not an embassy, a consulate, a university or a visa authority, and we do not guarantee outcomes.

Who we are
We work mainly with students from Any Country applying for bachelor’s degrees (laurea), master’s degrees (laurea magistrale) and other programmes at Italian universities and higher-education institutions. Our clients are usually first-generation international students and their families, for whom the Italian system, with its own vocabulary and its separate admission, visa and residence-permit steps, is unfamiliar. Our job is to make it understandable and to help you prepare properly.
What we believe
Accuracy over reassurance
We work from the rules as they stand for the current intake, not from forum rumours or from how things went for someone two years ago. When a consulate applies a rule in its own way, we tell you so and help you confirm the point with that consulate before you act on it. An uncomfortable answer early is worth more than a comfortable one that costs you an intake, and that is the answer you will get from us.
Transparency about our role
We tell you clearly what each service includes and excludes, what information we need and when, and that official fees are always paid by you directly to the body concerned. We do not take commissions from universities, insurers, landlords or other providers.
No guarantees, ever
The visa decision belongs exclusively to the Italian consulate. University pre-acceptance gives no right to a visa, and a visa gives no right to complete enrolment. Anyone who promises you a visa, a scholarship or a place is misleading you. What we promise is accurate information, careful preparation and straight feedback.
How we keep information current
- A full review every year. The rules for the next intakes are published every year, usually in spring. As soon as they are out, we go through every guide on this site and update it. Our guides currently reflect the rules for the 2026/27 and 2027/28 academic years.
- Updates whenever a consulate changes its list. Each consulate sets its own document list, appointment system, fees and processing times, and changes them without notice. When a consulate we work with changes its list, we update the pages that depend on it. We still ask you to confirm the current list with your consulate before you book, because that list is the one the officer will use.
- Tell us if something looks wrong. If a page no longer matches what your consulate or university is asking for, send us a message. We check it and correct the page.
- Links you will actually use. We point you to Universitaly to pre-enrol, Il visto per l’Italia to find your consulate and check whether you need a visa, CIMEA to request your statements, Polizia di Stato and Portale Immigrazione for the residence permit, Study in Italy for general orientation, and to your consulate. We do not send you to blogs or forums.
What we are not
- We are not an Italian embassy or consulate, and we have no role in visa decisions.
- We are not a university, an admissions office or an official recruitment agent for any institution, unless a specific agreement is stated on this page.
- We are not CIMEA, Universitaly, Uni-Italia or any other official body, and we are not affiliated with them.
- We are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice on immigration matters. We explain the standard process and help you follow it.
- We are not a visa-submission agency. You lodge your own pre-enrolment and your own visa application.
What we do
Our scope is advisory and covers five areas: university admission guidance (choosing a course and completing the Universitaly pre-enrolment), student visa consultation (understanding the type D visa requirements for your case), document preparation guidance (CIMEA statements, Dichiarazione di Valore, translations), application review (a line-by-line check before you submit) and pre-departure guidance (residence permit, enrolment and arrival). The services overview explains how they fit together and how an enquiry works. Alongside the services, we publish free guides in the student visa hub and the study in Italy hub, which many students use without ever becoming clients. That is fine with us.
How to contact us
WhatsApp is our main channel. The contact page explains what to include in a first message and what never to send over chat. Please read our privacy policy, terms and conditions and disclaimer before engaging a service; they set out how we handle your data and the limits of what we provide.
